If you suspect that your pet has fleas and you do not have any flea treatment products to hand then fear not as long as you have a flea comb (which most pet owners have in the cupboard) then you will be just fine until you are able to get out and purchase a product that you need to treat the fleas.

Try and give your pet a good bath in soapy water as fleas are killed by soapy water and then set about combing your pet's fur with the flea comb to try and get rid of as many fleas as you can.

There are many different flea combs on the market so you will have plenty of choice in finding one that will suit both you and your pet weather your pet is a cat or a dog.

The fine teeth of the flea comb will remove adult fleas and eggs. You can do this for as long as you feel the need or until you feel you have caught as many fleas as you feel you can for this session. You may need to repeat this process the next day before you buy your desired flea treatment.

As dogs and cats do sometimes like to be groomed they may see it as a good thing and be quite well behaved for you which will help you loads especially as you will not want fleas jumping all over your home so a good pet will be a big help for you.

There are many different flea combs on the market so you will have plenty of choice in finding one that will suit both you and your pet weather your pet is a cat or a dog.

The zapper comb is now available on the market, this comb kills fleas by giving out a small current that is only harmful to the fleas but is totally safe to be used on cats and dogs.

To make using the flea comb more effective you could try using the comb along side flea shampoo, so when you bath your pet you would apply the flea shampoo that will start to effect the fleas and cause them to start to die. Then when you have bathed your pet and they have been dried slightly then you should be able to remove the dead fleas by using the flea comb, this will also remove any fleas that were not killed by the shampoo. Together this could be quite successful at killing fleas but it would need to be repeated on a regular basis to keep the fleas well under control.
